Welcome to WorkRoster.
In this quick intro, I'll show you the basics needed to get started managing your work roster and organizing your team.
In the next 2 minutes, we'll cover:
The Roster View
Creating Shifts.
Assigning Employees to a Shift.
Removing Employees from a Shift
Adding Your Staff
and Setting Shifts to Repeat
Okay, let's do it!
The Roster View.
On the Work tab, you'll see the daily roster, including planned shifts and assigned staff.
There are controls to:
Navigate between weeks or days,
Switch between week and month view,
Change other view options.
The menu bar includes controls for:
Accessing Workforce Settings,
Create additional rosters,
Managing Resources, Clients, and Employees,
Print or email the roster,
Adding shifts, holidays, or sickness.
Creating Shifts.
To create a shift directly on the roster, simply click and drag from the start time to the end time, then release the mouse. And the shift is created.
Alternatively, click the Shift menu tab, fill in the details in the dialog, and save.
Assigning Employees to a Shift.
Hover over a shift to see the Shift Details box.
On the Assign line, click the Employee link to open a list of your employees.
Click on an employee's name. They are now assigned to the shift.
You can assign multiple employees to a shift if you wish.
Removing Employees from a Shift.
Hover over the shift assignment.
A Remove link appears next to the employee's name.
Click it to remove them.
Adding Your Staff.
Click the Employees menu tab, then click Add New Employee Record.
Enter their details, and click Create.
Repeat to add more employees.
These employees can now be assigned to shifts.
Setting Shifts to Repeat.
If a shift occurs regularly, then set it to repeat.
Hover over the shift, click Repeat, choose the frequency, and click Save.
The shift will now be scheduled automatically.
