Employee Shift Interest

A guide for employees to using the Shift Interest ( Willing and Reluctant ) feature.

Video Transcript

Using the WorkRoster "Shift Interest" feature, employees can indicate their interest for shifts on the roster as either “Willing” or “Reluctant”.

On the web roster view, you can hover over a shift that you are not yet assigned to and click the interest buttons in the Shift Details Box.

And also from the mobile app or mobile site.

Shift Interest is an excellent way for employees to inform their roster manager about their interest in working future shifts.

Please note: Some Workforces do not use the "Shift Interest" feature, and some Workforces do not show all shifts to employees. Please also note that some Workforces have set restrictions on when, and if, "reluctant" interest can be set.

Employees can check the Workforce Settings to see how the Shift Interest feature is configured for their workforce. Employees should speak to their roster manager about how they are expected to use Shift Interest.

If your workforce allows you to mark your interest for a shift as "reluctant", then that does not imply that you won't be assigned to it. Managers use your Shift Interest only as a guide when making decisions about who to assign to the shift.

Thank You.
